Signal Private Messenger

Privacy is possible. Signal makes it easy.

Using Signal, you can communicate instantly while avoiding SMS fees, create groups so that you can chat in real time with all your friends at once, and share media or other files all with complete privacy. Signal's servers never have access to any of your communication and never store any of your data.

★ Say Anything. Signal uses an advanced end-to-end encryption protocol to keep your conversations private. Every message, every call, every time.

★ Open Source. Signal is Free and Open Source, enabling anyone to verify its security by auditing the code. Signal is the only private messenger that uses open source peer-reviewed cryptographic protocols to keep your messages and calls safe.

★ Be Yourself - Signal uses your existing phone number and address book. There are no separate logins, usernames, passwords, or PINs to manage or lose.

★ Group Chat. Signal allows you to create encrypted groups so you can have private conversations with all your friends at once. Not only are the messages encrypted, but the Signal server never has access to any group metadata such as the membership list, group title, or group icon.

★ Fast. The Signal protocol is designed to operate in the most constrained environment possible. Using Signal, messages are instantly delivered to friends.

★ Speak Freely - Make crystal-clear phone calls to people who live across town, or across the ocean, with no long-distance charges.

Signal is not currently compatible with tablets, but support for larger screens is on our roadmap and will be included in a future release!

The only messenger I trust. While other messengers use the Signal protocol, only Signal is developed by a not for profit devoted to privacy. Other messengers may not read your messages, but what about the trust you give them in accessing your contacts, for instance? Functionally, Signal works well and is constantly improving. it also has less of the unnecessary fluff that you see in messengers. It does private messaging, and it does it well.

I am really enjoying communicating on this app. I have felt uncomfortable for years about how my words are collected for advertising purposes or any other purpose. I wonder if a joke I say or a personal struggle I have could get taken out of context and used against me in a terrible way. With this app, I feel more like I am entrusting my words to the person I am communicating with instead of a large corporation that does not respect me or anyone else.

overall nice app. this is a WhatsApp replacement for me so there are still some missing features like being able to see if someone read your message or being able to attach multiple photos at a time. I like that's a reply to comment but I don't understand why it only works for other signal users. I'm sure these features will come over time.

Outstanding and so close to being the best in every regard. If you guys could add the option to schedule messages and somehow allow the file sizes to be as large as telegrams.. Well .. You'd allow users to have their cake and eat it too. Great job, keep up the great work.. And if these features are ever in the mix you have a user for life. Heck, I'd even gladly pay.

It's generally an excellent and highly secure messaging application. It doesn't seem to play nice with the OnePlus 6T - I hope they can figure that out soon. I really like the fact that you can tell if someone has received, and separately, read a message. The ability to send multiple different file types is awesome. I love their emojis too.

Excellent. Everybody talks about phone security; Signal delivers with clarity and style. A way to delay text messages would be useful for me, but there's probably not much demand for the feature. Thanks, Signal. (updated) I decided the benefits and general quality of Signal outweigh the lack of a delayed message feature. Class app.

Even ignoring the focus on privacy and security, Signal deserves top marks for its simplicity and reliability. I find it easy to use, and it reliably sent texts on my old, dying phone while other messaging apps had major issues. Transferring old messages to a new phone takes some effort, but the reasons are legitimate, and the instructions on the app's website were clearly written and easy to follow.

Doesn't work. I cannot even register. \"Unable to connect the service. Please check network connection and try again.\" Update: seems like some temporary hiccup. Well, privacy, cryptography and stuff is good, but I'm still not impressed by usability. It just does its job, but some UI behaviour is a little bit annoying.

After being let down by the big G closing Allo (which I really liked) I decided to back an open source horse. Very pleased so far, love the simplicity and I hope they keep it that way without feature creep. I just use it as a straight IM without SMS integration which is how I like to roll. Kudos by Snowden and privacy is back. 🔏👍

Works great... It seamlessly replaces your built in messaging app for text and SMS. I have no way to know if it's truly a secure encryption... BUT , to.my knowledge, no one has eve\"s dropped on me while texting to my friends that are also use using signal. I also like that if you call from signal... its encrypted too. Now everyone must understand that whom ever your texting via signal must also have this app for your texts and calls sent through signal to be encrypted. Great app.
